Zoe–Connecticut Child and Family Photographer

Over the weekend we made our way North to visit family and friends.  While there, I made time to photograph my college girlfriend’s family and her adorable daughter Zoe.   Every time I see Zoe, she gets more and more beautiful (I usually have to log onto Facebook to see what Zoe and her mama are up to since we live several states apart).  This time, I got to see Zoe in full form, and oh my goodness, she does not disappoint!  Her smile is contagious, she loves to dance, and oh boy does she love her mama!

Doesn’t her expression just make you want to do something?  Anything.  Just to make her smile again!

Luckily, that smile came back around again.  Hooray for a happy Zoe!

Meanwhile, I have to say that Zoe’s mama knows how to decorate!  I love her home and her kids’ decor too.  I forgot to and need to ask her where she found Zoe’s adorable furniture.  We used two of her chairs for this session.  Oh, and I am getting around to playing with photoshop too.  I was able to inverse the color and black and white for a splash of fun in this photo.

More cuteness!

Mom and Dad’s sofa also made for a great photo prop.  Zoe just plopped down and I snapped this photo of her.  Love it!

Of course, photo sessions are hard work for everybody, especially kids.  As the session wound down, Zoe’s zest for the camera was fading fast.  Still, I can’t help but photograph kids when they’re not their happiest.  Capturing that side to childhood when kids aren’t super thrilled about everything . . . I think that’s important too.

And breaks matter too.  Before we got set up for the family shots, Zoe got all tuckered out and lay down in the grass.  Again, couldn’t resist photographing her tired little head . . .

Last, Zoe, her mama and her papa all gathered together for a great family photo.  Love you guys!  I can’t wait to see you again later this summer.  And to my friends and family in Connecticut, I will be sending out an e-mail to let you know when we’ll be in town.  I would love to do photos of you!
