Mr. Levi Monte
Baby General
Monte Household
Somewhere in the U.S.
Dear Levi,
I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to you for the wonderful opportunities you’ve offered me in the last five months. At our most recent meeting, I was impressed with your active participation as the Baby General in the Monte Household. Likewise, your father asked that I pass on his sincere appreciation for all the late nights, frequent wakings, poopy diapers, and your ongoing commitment to keeping him and your mother on their toes.
Your skill in chairing the controversial panel on “Convincing Your Mom to Break the Law and Speed so You Don’t Have to Ride in Your Carseat Longer than 5 Minutes” was very much appreciated by those representing all sides of that extremely sensitive topic. As well, we have received numerous post-conference requests for the paper you delivered on “Improving Mommy Morale When She’s Only Slept 3 Hours.” It appears that you may have penned a best-seller with that one!
On both a professional and a personal level, I really appreciated the time that the two of us were able to spend together for fun and reflection during down times (basically, when you and I are passed out taking one of your many daytime naps). I certainly learned a lot; I now know that you like your back patted before you nurse and that you prefer to sleep on my chest. That is so much fun!
Again, thanks so much for your enthusiastic participation as the Baby General in our home. I have no doubt that our family would not be complete without your presence.
Please keep in touch; I think I hear you crying for me now! I promise to read this letter to you when you are say, between age 3 and 6, ok?
From the very bottom of my heart (I love you, you little bugger, :-) )
Jessica Monte
Your Mommy
Enclosed: Two adorable photographs of you. I love being your mommy.

Jessica, thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Those irises showed their pretty green shoots last week after lots of rain and a couple of very mild days. Yes, today they are buried under about 12 inches of snow…and it’s still coming down. I’m in central va. and this crazy winter has been a bear. I hope all of my flowers manage to survive. I did cover them with dried leaves hoping to offer them some sort of protection. By the way, love the letter and the most adorable pictures.
So super cute!
PS His mom has a lovely sense of humor and a beautiful spirit.
That letter makes me smile. And those photos do, too. He really is adorable!
