“Once upon a time, there were lots of little pigs . . . ”
Can you tell we’ve been listening to lots of Laurie Berkner in our house? (thank goodness Britney Spears is a forgotten selection on our jukebox . . . I’d been praying for that for months now).
Over the weekend we stopped in at the farm to see a kids’ vaulting show (gymnastics on horses), and I noticed these beautiful snoozing baby pigs and their mamma. I’m wondering what this mamma’s secret is . . . just 2 stalls down, the baby pigs were lively, playful, and tuggin’ on another sleepy mamma pig. All I could think, to myself, when I saw her was, “Oh, mamma, do I understand what that feels like.” (I’ve experienced my daughter’s nursing gymnastics for the last year or so now). This time around, I’m praying that I’ll spend more time like the mamma pig pictured above, snoozing in the hay and snuggling with my calm baby, :-) Mamma can hope, right?

Yes, I thought so. Today we returned for another visit and the little pigs were so active. Seriously, it is like being with my own babies, :-)
What a sweet picture! It does look peaceful :)
robin, sigh, I so understand how you feel, :-)
Still, Icouldn’t help but admire this mamma pig’s zen relaxation skills. Something I’d love to learn more about . . .
Tabbie, thank you!
What a precious photo!
not to be a buzz kill but my second born is going to be ten months in not so long and she still won’t nurse laying down and snuggling. SIGH. but she’d got other great skills. :)
Exactly, :-)
This little piggy knows how to chill!!
Imagine how blissed out in love with her babies she must be!
:)
