Sledding

Sledding is all about finding a good hill, some snow, and friends (like mom and dad) who like to roll around in the snow.

“Whee!!!”

“Again!  Again!”

Back up the hill.

“My turn.  I do it.”  Meanwhile, her mamma’s heartrate increases until she knows her 25 lb. 2 year old is really okay flying down a hill on a piece of plastic all by herself.

And then mamma relaxes and takes in her beautiful snowy surroundings.

like the snow covered creek,

ducks who stayed for the winter,

and  the breathtaking quietness of the lake, blanketed in soft snow.

Me too, Michelle. The hill, lake, and creek are in the county park/forestry that our house backs to, so it is a convenient spot for us to go sledding. I am hoping to make better use of our beautiful park this summer too.

AZ Dog Mom, I guess we’re just savoring the snow because we’ve had so little of it. =) I think that if we still lived in the northeast or in Minnesota, after a while, we’d see the snow for the work and hazard that it can be.

Abbie, yes, I think Annabelle has figured that part of sledding out. Funny thing is that her dad is so in love he doesn’t seem to care.

Sledding’s even better when your dad carries you back up the hill!

These pictures made me a little (just a little mind you) homesick for Minnesota. Living in AZ, I don’t get the chance to see snow on a river, or a hillside of trees all dusted in powder. And I must say, I do miss the sledding. My tailbone doesn’t, but my inner child sure does.
