Wordless Wednesday: Jack-o’-lanterns

“Jack-o-lantern, Jack-o-lantern,
You are such a funny sight.
As you sit there by the window,
Looking out into the night.
You were once a sturdy pumpkin,
growing on a curly vine.
Now you are a Jack-o-lantern,
See your night lights shine.

For tips on how to carve your own pumpkins, visit e-how’s Jack-o-lantern tutorial. My family and I carved these pumpkins this past Sunday and it is my response to Inspire Me Thursday’s Carve theme.

Michelle, yes, my husband and I carved these pumpkins over the weekend. Growing up, I do not remember carving too many pumpkins, so I was surprised that I managed to carve the cat into the small pumpkin. For the other 2 pictured here, I drew one, my husband drew the other, and he carved both. Next year we may use power tools, believe it or not, to try some fancier carving work.

Great carving…did you do those?
I have never been good at carving pumpkins…
Happy Halloween
